Testament to things that can happen

So yesterday was a full day. I got up at 7am and started getting everything ready for a shoot later that morning, then I started in on more footage in AVID. Oh how I love that program. So much more fun compared to working with FCP or Premiere. There are a couple changes I would love to make to it though. Maybe they are made in 6, IDK since I am working in 5.5. But either way, headed out to the shoot at 10am and got their by 1030. was set for the shoot about 1115am. Had to light 2 rooms for set and eventually use 4 rooms for testimonials and demonstrations. It was a long day. finished shooting about 530pm. and then got back to the producers and was transferring the footage off of my CF card before I had to leave and things began to go wrong. May I suggest to those of you that shoot with your own gear, make sure that you keep part of your income aside to replace and or repair your gear. Since I had to go I have yet to find out if it was my card reader that was faulty or my 64 gig CF card. I hope that it was just my cable or reader since the CF card costs about 600 smackers. that would be a huge dent against me right now that I don't need. So, over all it as a good day. Shot about 119 gigs worth of footage though. I am not looking forward to sorting and importing all of that. It is going to be a pain in my ass. But that is fine. It's the little things like being able to look at my footage and critique my shooting methods and think forward on how to improve my style and methodology that I really like...that is, not to be out done by the process over all of making something that can be held in history as either something small and outdated or something that impacts others. Moral of the story, work hard at being awesome, keep on truckin, and remember, we are all in this together.
